Osteopathy is a discrete medical speciality, which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculo-skeletal problems.  A detailed knowledge of the structure and function of the body enables the osteopath to not only diagnose but also identify any underlying causes of injury or mechanical stress.

The title “Osteopath” is legally protected (like Dentist or Doctor) and only awarded to practitioners who have completed a degree at one of the certified osteopathic education institutions.

Osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
