Cranial osteopathy is a refined form of osteopathic treatment which encourages the release of stresses and strains within the body using gentle manipulative pressure. It is a very effective treatment approach and can be used to treat a wide range of conditions in all ages, from newborn to octogenarian.

Cranial osteopaths are specialised in feeling a subtle, rhythmical shape change present in all body tissues called Involuntary Motion. It was first described by Dr William Sutherland in the early 1900s and was later confirmed in a series of laboratory tests in the 60s and 70s.

Due to the gentleness of cranial osteopathy, it is particularly safe and effective in the treatment of babies and children. It can also be useful for patients who are nervous about being manipulated.
